With the expansion of the feminism movement, we are seeing more and more women reject the idea of submitting to anyone, and taking special offense to being expected to submit to a man, married or not.  While I am all about girl power and the necessity for women, specifically Black women, to have a voice in any relationship they participate in, I also understand how submission plays a role in healthy romantic relationships.  Because the term submit has been inappropriately used as a tool for control and evil by some members of the church for so long, we don’t really have the information we need to be ok with being submissive to our spouses and actually have an aversion to the idea of it in general.   So, today, I am talking about what it really means to submit in a healthy relationship.
